一.The application of super capacitor?

1, fast charging application, charging for a few seconds, discharge for a few minutes. Such as electric tools, electric toys;

2. In a UPS system, a supercapacitor provides instantaneous power output as a supplement to the backup power source of an engine or other uninterrupted system;

3. Energy sources with sufficient energy and lack of power, such as solar energy;

4. Power support when the bus is switched from one power source to another;

5, small current, long-term continuous discharge, such as computer memory backup power;

application of super capacitor

二.How fast is the supercapacitor discharge?

◆ Supercapacitors can be charged and discharged quickly. The peak current is limited only by its internal resistance, and even a short circuit is not fatal.

◆ Actually determined by the size of the capacitor unit, for matching load, small monomer can be placed 10A, and large monomer can be placed at 1000A.

◆ Another limitation of the discharge rate is heat. Repeated discharge at a sharp rate will increase the temperature of the capacitor and eventually lead to an open circuit.

三. How to control the discharge of super capacitor?

◆ The resistance of the supercapacitor hinders its rapid discharge. The time constant τ of the supercapacitor is 1~2s, and it takes about 5τ to completely discharge the resistance-capacitor circuit, which means that it takes about 5~10s for short-circuit discharge. (They actually take a few hours to completely remove the residual charge due to the special structure of the electrodes)

四. What are the advantages and disadvantages of super capacitor?

1, advantages

◆ reach the capacitance of the Farah level in a small volume;

◆ No special charging circuit and control discharge circuit

◆ Overcharge and overdischarge do not negatively affect the life of the battery;

◆ From the perspective of environmental protection, it is a kind of green energy;

◆ Supercapacitors can be soldered, so there are no problems such as weak battery contact;

2, disadvantages

◆ If used improperly, it will cause electrolyte leakage and other phenomena;

◆ Compared with aluminum electrolytic capacitors, it has a large internal resistance and therefore cannot be used in AC circuits;
